Dr James W S Lee graduated with a medical degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) before proceeding to further his studies in the United Kingdom, where he trained in the specialty of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Dr Lee then went to St George’s Medical School Hospital in London to complete his subspecialty training in urogynaecology and pelvic floor reconstructive surgery in 2004. Apart from his qualifications in Western Medicine, Dr Lee also obtained a graduate diploma in acupuncture from the College of TCM Singapore and the Beijing TCM University.
Dr James Lee is a gynaecologist who is extensively trained in managing common gynaecological issues such as ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, and endometriosis, as well as urogynaecological problems like disorders of the lower urinary tract and pelvic floor. Patients with such problems could experience symptoms such as urinary incontinence.
Dr Lee is also highly experienced in pelvic reconstructive surgery, vaginal surgery and laser therapy, urodynamic evaluation of the urogenital tract, in addition to laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgery.
Previously, Dr Lee worked as a consultant at the National University Hospital (NUH), Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, where he led the urogynaecological service from 2005 to 2010. During his tenure, Dr Lee taught and trained medical students, junior doctors and specialist trainees in his areas of specialty, which includes general obstetrics and gynaecology, and also pelvic floor medicine and surgery.
For his decade-long service at NUH, Dr Lee was awarded numerous Star Awards for his outstanding patient care.
Currently, Dr Lee is a member of the International Urogynecology Association, International Society of Sexual Medicine, and the International Continence Society. In addition, he previously served as President of the Society for the Study of Andrology & Sexology, Singapore (SSAS), where he still is an active executive committee member today.
