The focus is on enhancing one’s quality of life even as we go through natural ageing experiences such as perimenopause and menopause. From the time of our birth, our cells are subject to deterioration from everyday processes like breathing, moving and eating, as well as from our environment such as pollution and radiation. Over time, free radicals can cause damage to cells, accelerating ageing and increasing the risk of disease, such as diabetes and cancers. Our body’s hormones, such as estrogen, testosterone, thyroid hormones and growth hormones, which contribute to processes such as metabolism, sexual and reproductive functions, maintaining memory and bone strength, also commonly decline with age. However, these changes attributed to age could potentially be reversed or slowed down with the right steps taken.
