Get to know Astra Women’s Specialists Clinics in the Heartland
Welcome back to our monthly series about Astra Women’s Specialist Clinics in the heartland areas. For the month of June, we are going to our clinic at Jurong East. Ladies living in the West do not have to travel all the way to town just to see a gynae. The nearest MRT stations to our gynae clinic are Jurong East and Chinese Garden.
Our Jurong clinic is run by obstetrician and gynaecologist, Dr Tho Chin Keong, who has over 25 years of experience! His clinic provides a comprehensive range of treatments for all obstetrics and gynae issues, with Dr Tho being especially passionate about caring for pregnant ladies. For pregnant mummies looking to see him, Dr Tho delivers at Mount Alvernia, Thomson Medical and Mount Elizabeth (Novena).
The clinic also has a minor operating theatre where minor procedures can be done. Some of these procedures include removal of lesions from the cervix or birth canal, dilation and curettage to exclude cancer of the womb, evacuation of the womb if there is a failed pregnancy and termination of pregnancy. Medisave or insurance can be used for some of the minor procedures done in the clinic, as long as eligibility criteria are met. For Medisave, you are able to claim about $900-$1200 for minor procedures.
