Clinical Interests:
Dr Claudia Chi obtained her medical degree from Imperial College London, UK in 2000 and completed her specialist training in O&G from the London Deanery.
She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and also holds a Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare. She is currently a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and a member of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society of Singapore (OGSS).
While in the UK, Dr Chi worked in several major acute teaching hospitals as well as large busy district hospitals, helping women from multicultural backgrounds with different obstetrics and gynaecological conditions.
In Singapore, Dr Chi was a Consultant and Assistant Professor at NUH, with several leadership roles. She was the Lead Clinician of the Delivery Suite, where she implemented the obstetrics safety plan and updated clinical protocols with best evidence-based practice to promote quality of care and patient safety.
Dr Chi was also in charge of the Obstetrics services for women with Gestational Diabetes (GDM) at NUH. Her expertise in GDM led to her appointment as the Lead Discussant of the expert group, tasked by MOH’s Agency for Care Effectiveness (ACE), to craft the latest guidelines on Gestational Diabetes screening and management.
Dr Claudia’s philosophy of practice encompasses personalised care that is supported by open and honest communication, respect for women’s autonomy with an emphasis on informed choice, and the prevention and management of risks through optimisation of women’s health status.
Women who have been looked after by Dr Chi commonly describe her as bubbly, confident, and always giving off a positive attitude. Dr Chi is fluent in English, Mandarin and conversant with Taiwanese.
